Will the route be accessible?
– Yes, the route will be approximately a mile long. The sidewalks are wide but will narrow when we get to the park paths. We are conscious of trying to make the March and rally as accessible and anti-oppressive as possible for all the diverse Dyke community members.

La ruta será accesible?
-Sí, la ruta será aproximadamente una milla largo. Las banquetas son anchas pero se reducirán cuando lleguemos a los senderos del parque. Conscientemente tratamos de hacer la marcha y demonstración lo más accesible y anti-opresivo posible para tod@s l@s diversos miembros de la comunidad Dyke.

Current Mission:
Chicago Dyke March Collective is a grassroots mobilization and celebration of dyke, queer, bisexual, and transgender resilience. It is an anti-racist, anti-violent, volunteer-led, grassroots effort with a goal to bridge together communities across race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, age, size, gender identity, gender expression, sexuality, culture, immigrant status, spirituality, and ability. We challenge fatphobia and are body positive.

El Colectivo Chicago Dyke March sigue evolucionando y existe como una movilización popular, como una celebracion de las person@s Dykes, Queer, Bisexual, Transgenero y la resistencia. Se trata de un esfuerzo de base anti-racista, anti-violenta, dirigido por voluntarios, con el objetivo de conectar a las comunidades a traves de raza, origen etnico, nivel socioeconomico, la edad, el tamaño, la identidad de género, expresión de género, la sexualidad, la cultura, la condición de inmigrante, la espiritualidad, y la capacidad. Nosotras/os desafiamos la fatphobia y celebramos todos los tipos de cuerpos con total positividad.

– SAFETY MARSHALL volunteers are needed to be trained prior to the March and then to help during the March! They are mostly our “eyes and ears” as we march the route. Safety Marshall trainings will happen a few times in June.

-Se necesitan voluntarios de seguridad. Deberan de ser entrenados antes de la marcha y poder ayudar durante la marcha! Los voluntarios de seguridad son nuestros “ojos y oídos” durante la ruta. Los entrenamientos se lleveran acabo varias veces en junio.

– VOLUNTEERS TO HELP SET-UP AND TAKE DOWN the rally! Also for different events leading up to the march.

– VOLUNTARIOS PARA AYUDAR a montar y desmantelar el mitin! También para diferentes acontecimientos que sucederán durante la marcha.
